Ziyad Berlioz is the Prime Minister of Gargania Empire and Emperor Wolfgang III's right hand man. Ziyad leads the Imperial Faction in the Parliament. Due to the emperor's old, frail body, Ziyad was entrusted with political affairs by Wolfgang himself, making him de facto ruler of Gargania.

Ziyad is an accomplished mage in his right who rose through the ranks during his service in the Gargania-Millenia war. He is the current general of the Magic Division.

Ziyad is one of the radical Daltans who interpret the Star Prophecy to mean only the stars' chosen can usher in the promised land.
Early on, Ziyad's ambition is checked by the emperor's firm reign. However, after the events at Golgotha, Ziyad is able to persuade the emperor to send soldiers to route the Leonicans. He entrusts the task of scouring Espada to his aide Regina.
Gameplay[]
Ziyad is the final boss of route A. He is fought in Scene 26. His class is Chariot, a mage who combines the traits of a Sorceress and a Tamer.

- Ziyad's title among imperial legions is given as The Abyss (深淵のザイアード Shin'en no Zaiādo, Abyssal Ziyad, Infernal Ziyad).
- The two weapons used by Ziyad, the whip Jormungandr and the rod Ouroboros, are both named after mythological serpents. Ouroboros is associated with the ancient Egyptian deity Mehen and represents the flow of time. Jormungandr, in Norse mythology, is notable as an enemy of Asgard and one of the perpetrators of Ragnarok.
